Debates with the participation of the scientific community

     5. Tea with a Researcher: A Discussion on the Role of Science in Society

On March 4, 2026, the event “Tea with a Researcher” took place, organized by the Center for Research Career Counseling and Guidance – Western Region (CeCOCe-Vest), as part of the UVT Research and Innovation Days 2026. The event offered an evening dedicated to science beyond laboratories and academic publications, facilitating an open dialogue between researchers and community members.

The meeting brought to the forefront discussions about the role of science in society, as well as ways in which research results can be communicated more effectively and in a manner more accessible to the general public. The atmosphere encouraged the exchange of ideas and direct interaction among participants in an informal and welcoming setting.

The event’s guests, Prof. Gabriela Vlase, Ph.D. (Faculty of Chemistry, Biology, and Geography – UVT) and Ada Roseti, a science communication specialist, contributed to the discussion with complementary perspectives on research, its impact, and the public responsibility of science.

The evening became a genuine space for reflection and dialogue, where direct questions and informal conversations highlighted the importance of bringing science closer to society and building trust in research.

      4. Community Participation and Data Co-Creation in Participatory Mapping: Highlights from a Citizen Science Debate at WUT
