👩‍🔬👨‍🔬 Mentoring session for young researchers

On October 4, 2024, we had the pleasure of co-organizing a mentoring session specifically dedicated to young researchers. This session was designed to provide participants with the tools they need to help them in their scientific careers by addressing key topics related to good research practices.

The session began with an introduction that emphasized the importance of continuing education in the field of research. Participants were then engaged in a reflection exercise that helped them analyze their own experiences and identify their strengths and weaknesses.

One of the key moments was the discussion on delivering clear speech. Participants learned how to communicate their research results effectively, with an emphasis on the art of conveying information in an accessible and convincing manner.

The concept of feedback and its importance in the learning process was also addressed. Participants discussed what constructive feedback is, but also the pitfalls that are important to avoid. Emotion management was another central topic, helping researchers understand and manage their emotions in stressful situations.

The second part of the session focused on communication skills under stress. Participants learned about the nature of stress, how to identify the factors that cause it, and effective strategies for managing it. The session ended with a module on best practices in research and visual presentations that helped reinforce the concepts discussed.

We would like to thank all participants, advisors, and mentors for their essential contributions to this event!
