“Computational statistics: How a researcher understands earthquakes on the Moon, the evolution of cryptocurrencies, and the classification of driving styles” guest Dr. Habil. Alexandru Nicolin-Żaczek

Over 100 participants had the pleasure of exploring concepts such as earthquakes on the Moon, the evolution of cryptocurrencies, and driving styles, all through the lens of computational statistics, alongside Dr. Habil. Alexandru Nicolin-Żaczek, senior researcher at the Institute of Space Sciences.

Dr. Habil. Alexandru Nicolin-Żaczek is an exceptional scientist with an extensive career in physics and space sciences. Since 2019, he has held the position of Senior Researcher at the Institute of Space Sciences in Măgurele, Ilfov. Prior to this position, for almost 11 years he carried out his scientific activity at the “Horia Hulubei” National Institute of Physics and Nuclear Engineering (IFIN-HH) in Măgurele, where he progressed through the career ladder from Junior Scientist to Senior Scientist CS I. During this period, he contributed important research in computational physics, studying transport phenomena in nuclear systems and nonlinear effects in ultra-cold quantum gases.
In terms of academic training, Dr. Nicolin-Żaczek completed his undergraduate studies at the Polytechnic University of Bucharest, then specialized at the University of Copenhagen, where he obtained both Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degrees, as well as a doctorate in physics.
For his scientific contributions, Dr. Nicolin-Żaczek was awarded the Constantin Miculescu Prize by the Romanian Academy in 2013. This prestigious distinction recognizes excellence in research and is awarded to those
