On December 6, 2023, the West University of Timișoara hosted the “Science Café” event, with Dr. Zoltán Dudás, a graduate of the West University of Timișoara and senior researcher at the Center for Energy Research, Hungarian Academy of Science, as a special guest. Participants had the privilege of traveling into the fascinating universe of materials science.

Dr. Dudás, whose academic career began at the West University of Timișoara, took participants on a journey from his undergraduate studies to his research in materials science. He explored new territories in sol-gel technology and made significant contributions to the synthesis and characterization of materials, from willemite to amorphous silica materials with various applications.
